Rebekah and I watched this movie last night, and I was dumbfounded by the gospel imagery throughout the movie. There’s so much I could the detail, but the most impactful part for me was when Superman was conversing with Lois Lane up in the clouds. She has written an article titled “Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman,” and had won a Pulitzer for it during the 5 years Superman was away checking out the wreckage of his home planet. At the end of the conversation, Superman says this to Lois: “The world may say they don’t need a savior, but I hear their cries for one every day.” Wow! That’s profound. We can hear and see the cry for a savior everyday ourselves on the news, in the papers, on the net, in the faces of the people we meet on the street. As Paul writes in Romans 8:19 (paraphrased): “All creation is anxiously longing (groaning in other translations) for the revealing of the sons of God.” The cry for a savior still resounds today. If only the world would lift up it’s eyes, and see the real Superman, the original Superman, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Savior of the World.
The gift of hospitality combined with kashabba ministry in a Kingdom atmosphere. I have a couple friends who are experts in this. This one is for you Mama Shabba and Auntie Shabba. (Well, Mama Shabba created the word anyway).
One of the things I’ve been contemplating recently is the emphasis on sonship in the body of Christ these days (of which I speak on often). I was sitting down the other day and realized that this emphasis is needed for the following reason: if we do not individually come into the revelation of our identity as sons and daughters, we the church will not grow into maturity and miss out on the intimacy that is available with Christ. The Father is only going to give a pure, spotless bride to His Son. Individual sons (Gal 3:26-4:7) mature into a corporate daughter (the people of God were always referred to in the old testament in a corporate sense as a “her”) that is married off as a beloved daughter to THEE Beloved Son. The Father is not going to give an church manifesting itself as a orphan over to the Son. That’s not what Jesus paid the price for. But for a beloved, pure, spotless daughter, that is the desire of Jesus’s heart. Anyhow, a little sloppy, but I think this hits on something and combines the Sonship/Bridal paradigms together. Let me know what you think. Blessings Beloved.
The following testimony was just sent in from Thomas Massamu, GMA Director for Africa. It comes from the 2009 African Call, well, actually, the time before the event when we were ramping up over there with Advance Team. Anyhow, we don’t know who prayed (it wasn’t me, but I was in that meeting), although, it doesn’t matter. What does is this: Even Cancer bows it’s knee to Jesus! Here is what Thomas typed:
One of the testimonies that is greatly shaking this area is that of a miraculous healing of of a gentleman from Arusha who was suffering from a terminal cancer of the o esophagus .This man happened to be in one of the churches in Sanya Juu
where the advance team was conducting a prayer rally for the preparations of the ” CALL ” . Seen the swollen big tumour on this man and moved with compassion the team prayed for him believing that God would have mercy upon him and heal him of the deadly condition . Although the man was mightily touched by the power of God the big tumor on his throat did not disappear instantly . As he went back to Arusha he realized that the malignant tumor was transforming to a boil and diminishing in size until it completely disappeared . Clinical tests has proven that there is no trace of cancer in this man anymore . The man is has gained his weight and is in excellent health condition . He is testifying every where with his medical tests and records as a proof of his miraculous healing . WE GIVE GOD ALL THE GLORY ! !
KASHABBA!!!!
This past weekend Rebekah and I had the wonderful privilege of ministering at this wonderful body in Soldotna, AK. It all started with the apostles of the house coming to Rebekah and I’s wedding, Steve & Vicky Tolliver. They opened a door for us to contact the senior pastors there Pisa & Michelle Faumui. Rebekah has known that family from when she was a child and her MOm and Dad ran with those guys advancing the Kingdom of God in Alaska. Anyhow, we met for lunch with Pisa and Michelle and we all connected wonderfully. Something I’ve gotten to observe is that “Tribe” knows each other when they meet. And we connected in the Spirit. So, Pastor Pisa graciously opened a door for Rebekah and I to speak and minister to their church body. But before we could do that, their daughter Mariah and husband Jayson asked us to minister to the young adults at Kalifonsky. So, on Thursday night we treked on over and shared our hearts. Rebekah and I tag teamed for about 30 minutes plus on the Kingdom and identity as sons and daughters. It went real well as we ministered for along time one on one with the young adults there. Great time! Then on Sunday it was just great as I spoke for 30 minutes or so on the Kingdom of God and just revelation the Lord has given to me over the last few months. They greatly received the word and embraced ministry time. What was surprising is that most of the ministry was centered around inner healing and not physical healing. But it appeared many were impacted and encountered God on the terms they needed. The church there is wonderful. Vibrant, full of life, walking in freedom. Definitely a place where the “Tribe” resides. Anyhow, it was a great time on the Kenai peninsula, and we’ll see where we go from there. But we can’t wait to see them again, cause they are family. God Bless You Kalionsky!!!!!
So much to blog, not enough time. I’m gonna try to get current events started again and catch up on previous events (like the African Call 2009) over the next couple months. Anyhow, on August 8th I married the love of my life Rebekah Donelson. Marriage is truly a wonderful thing, especially to a gift of God’s grace like Rebekah. Anyhow, both of us will be in touch more in the future, but just wanted to spread the news. Blessings to you all.
One of the things I really enjoyed about ministering the Kingdom of God in the Philippines was the passion and hunger of the people. Especially the way they worshipped the Lord with reckless abandon. I have some videos of the worship, as well as videos of a fire tunnel. I’ll post some of them once I get a connection that is strong enough and will last for the whole upload. Anyhow, a snapshot of the passion these people have for Jesus:
